Each Optima Design is Unique, Just Like You
Every Optima design is one-of-kind and unique to the specific home site and client desires. Our architects expertly consider important site parameters such as views, wind, sun, landscaping, drainage & other site regulations when designing your oasis. When building alongside a homebuilder, we easily speak “architect” with the homebuilder’s architect, making it easy for both the homeowner and homebuilder at every step of the process.
Water is the Main Feature
Optima doesn’t just design pools. Water is the main feature and that usually includes a pool, pond or fountain. Throughout history, water has been one of the essential needs for human survival. It is so vastly important to humans that civilizations are formed around natural water sources. We are powerfully & mysteriously attracted to and fascinated by its movement, visual beauty, sound and calming effect. Thus, water becomes the main feature in the quest for the ultimate outdoor experience.

Our Process
Below is a high-level overview of our 5-step process, ensuring you’ll know what to expect every step of the way.
Building a custom pool begins with excavation and dirt work to shape the site, followed by setting the form that defines its outline. Next, steel reinforcement is placed for added strength, plumbing lines are installed for circulation, and finally, the gunite is applied to create a durable, lasting shell.
Once the pool’s shell is complete, we shape its character with stonework and concrete—adding coping, patios, and pathways for safety and style. We then apply plaster for a smooth, waterproof finish, and can further enhance your outdoor space with specialty fireplaces and shade structures.
After the build is complete, we coordinate inspections to ensure every element meets quality and safety standards. We then perform a thorough pool start-up, fine-tuning equipment and water chemistry for optimal performance. Finally, during “Pool School,” we’ll teach you everything you need to know for easy, ongoing maintenance and care.

Rob Reavey has over 20 years of architectural design & construction experience. He studied architecture at the University of Kansas, ran a medium-sized architectural firm in Denver, CO for many years, and maintains that today along with Optima Pools.
He is the brains behind Optima designs & meets new clients on their initial consultation and dreams with them. He designs the outdoor oasis’ and oversees the Optima Team.
He says, “I love networking and meeting new people. Many of our clients become my personal friends.”
When he isn’t designing outdoor masterpieces, Rob enjoys spending time with his significant other, son & friends, relaxing in his hot tub, and watching the Denver Broncos play.

Terry joined Optima in June 2020.
With 24 years of pool planning & building experience, Terry is responsible for project management, coordinating subcontractors, putting quotes together at times & working with local municipalities and permitting offices throughout Central Texas.
“My favorite part of pool building is seeing the final product come together & have satisfied customers throughout the whole process,” he says.
He enjoys making the world a better place “one pool at a time.” When he isn’t working, Terry enjoys fishing, live music & being outdoors with his family & wife of 32 years.

Nikki joined Optima in March 2024.

With 15+ years of executive assistant & customer service experience, Nikki is responsible for Optima’s marketing & social media, staff meetings, and supporting the owner, other staff & clients.
When she isn’t working, Nikki enjoys volunteering, relaxing with friends & family, and dancing with her husband of almost 17 years.
